Brand new bar set to open in Redcar following lockdown

What Chapter 3 is due to look like once open

The hospitality sector has, and will continue to be, one of the hardest-hit areas of business during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Although some shops are looking likely to reopen in the coming weeks, we are going to need to wait a little longer for pubs and restaurants to follow suit.

In recent years, Redcar has seen a real improvement in its food and drink sector, especially in the ‘Northern Quarter’.

Karl Nixon of Redcar is due to be opening a new pub in the Northern Quarter called ‘Chapter 3’ but will have to wait a little longer before it can start trading.

He said: “Like with everyone, Coronavirus has put a hold on most things.

“We were told we might be able to open on July 4.”

Chapter 3 will be occupying the same building that restaurants ‘The Chef’s Table’ and ‘Light of Asia’ previously did and will be a bar and eatery.

There will be two separate bars inside, the main bar and also one specialising in cocktails.

Further to these, there is a near brand new kitchen already fitted thanks to the previous owner and Karl is doing any metalwork, painting and outstanding DIY himself.

Karl continued and said: “It will act as a bar first and foremost on Friday and Saturdays, but will also be selling food such as stone baked pizzas, parmos, hot dogs etc.”

Many new pubs and restaurants have opened in Redcar these last few years and have been great for the town’s morale and economy.

Jordan Kirk has worked at various bars in Redcar over the last few years and said: “I’m hoping that all of the bars and restaurants in the area come back after lockdown with business booming better than ever.

“It’s great for the area and the more establishments opening the better.”

Hopefully, businesses new and old in Redcar will be able to flourish and trade even more than usual once the lockdown restrictions have been lifted.
