Fun-filled things to do this weekend in Leeds

We’ve put together our top five events happening in Yorkshire this weekend:

  1. Zombie Apocalypse at Kirkstall Abbey – Saturday June 11

Even the ghosts of the Abbey Monks will be quivering under their robes at the nightmarish scenes taking place within the cloisters.

Sneaky Experience are calling on expert Zombie hunters to help stop the ghoulish disease spreading and tackle the flesh eating corpses in the Zombie combat zone.

Those brave enough and lucky enough to reach ‘Sneaky HQ’ will have the opportunity to join a Zombie boot-camp, where you’ll learn to think like a Zombie.

Followed by a screening of Shaun of the Dead, which will be a ‘lessons learnt’ session on how to combat any future Zombie apocalypses.

  1. Kirkstall Festival, Kirkstall Abbey – Saturday June 11

Before the grounds become infested with Zombies one of the largest community led festivals in Leeds will be celebrating its 35th year running.

With lots of stalls, food, music and fairground what more could you want from a festival? For it all to be set in the ruins of a medieval Cistercian abbey set in wonderful parkland along the banks of the River Aire amid a haven of wildlife and greenery, you say?

Then Kirkstall Abbey Festival is just for you.

Last year it attracted 25,000 people and with over 160 stalls, so be prepared for a busy weekend.
