Guiseley travel to Evostick Division One East side Cleethorpes Town in a bid to reach the Final Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

The Lions will be hoping to amend last week’s 4-2 defeat to York City as they travel to the team who sit at the foot of the table two leagues below them.

For Cleethorpes this is arguably the biggest game in their history, as this is the first time they have reached this stage of the competition. They go into the game having drawn 3-3 with AFC Mansfield on Tuesday night.

Guiseley eased past Staveley Miners’ Welfare in the last round with a 4-0 victory, meanwhile The Owls have been on an incredible run to reach this stage, beating Walsall Wood 4-1 followed by a 5-0 win over Evo-stick Premier team Bamber Bridge in a replay after a 3-3 draw at Linden Club.

Cleethorpes are set to have almost a fully fit side available for the historic clash, with one or two late fitness tests expected. The only confirmed absence for them is the suspended Josh Batty.

Guiseley fans will be hopeful striker Kingsley James can repeat his incredible performance in the last round, as he notched three goals.

Manager Marcus Bignot has already spoken of his wariness of Cleethorpes, saying: “I’m under no illusions that it will be a difficult cup tie for us.”

If Cleethorpes are able to overcome the team who sit 51 places above them in the football pyramid, the £15,000 prize money will be a huge boost for the club.
