On Thursday 29th November Falafel Guys in Leeds will open a permanent restaurant shop at new food court venue Assembly Underground.

The food truck has secured its number one position on Trip Advisor for 15 months.

Callum Fletcher, who works at Falafel Guys said: “I think it’s because we are constantly using the best products by far, and the home feel of the food.

“All the recipes are from the two brothers who founded the business. It’s all their mothers’ recipes, it’s in the family, it’s come from the heart of their Egyptian roots.

“On the face-to-face and day-to-day it comes to customer interaction and keeping everyone involved and keeping a communal feel to the place.

“This coming Thursday we will have a permanent place just behind Millennium Square, it’s called Assembly Underground.

“It will be part of the underground food court with us and various other food vendors, there’s a bar in there. It should be a wonderful place with a good atmosphere.”

Assembly Underground also offer a range of street food and craft beer with operators including Slap and Pickle, Punjabi street curry specialist Jah Jyot, Leodis Coffee and Pizza Authority.

The new venue will be based in the basement of the old Leeds School Board, which closed as a nightclub and music venue in 2015.

Eva Rotman, 23 of Leeds University said: “I always come here if I’m in the centre, its quick, easy and not too expensive, and healthy.

“I didn’t realise they were opening up a place, but I’ll definitely be dragging my friends there, we love street food.”
