Liam Fray set to bring Courteeners back catalogue to Leeds’ O2 Academy

By Simon Crowe

COURTEENERS front man Liam Fray is in town next week playing the O2 Academy in Leeds – bringing his acoustic guitar and his full back catalogue.

The last time Liam was in Leeds he played with his band to a sell-out crowd of over 13,000 people at the First Direct Arena.

More recently the Mancunian indie-rockers finished touring together for the year with a special gig at Old Trafford, playing to over 50,000 fans.

The gig came shortly after the tragic events that took place at Manchester Arena and was the first major concert to be played in the city after the attack.

The concert got the city bouncing again with the band performed a set list packed full of their greatest songs and were supported by fellow Mancunians Blossoms, The Charlatans and Cabbage.

Although the sell-out crowd at the Leeds O2 will be only just over 2,000, it promises to be a small but perfectly-formed gig on Thursday, November 2.
