Shrimps Need a Win In the Worst Way Against Spireites

By Ben Emmott

Chesterfield host Morecambe in a bottom of the table clash, with Chesterfield determined to end their 10 game run without a win in the league.

Morecambe, who sit in 21st place, with only 10 points, will visit the Proact Stadium looking to get revenge for their 1-0 defeat last time they travelled over in 2014.

The Shrimps will be looking to bounce back from last week’s home defeat to Crawley Town and get a win for the first time since they beat Newport back in September.

Despite his poor start to his career as the Chesterfield boss, Jack Lester, believes it will take time for his plan to settle with his squad.

“I think everybody is clear in what we want and what is accepted. The players have bought into it, their willingness to work in training has been great.”

Kristian Dennis is currently sitting on five goals in this season’s campaign and will be hoping to score a few against Morecambe who have conceded 17 so far this season.

Off the pitch, Morecambe have been in the news as it has been confirmed that their financial future is secure for the next two years after a period of worry at the club.

The Shrimps will be hoping to get three points this weekend so they can start looking towards securing their future in League Two as well as their financial future, whereas Chesterfield will be simply aiming to get three more points on the board and kick start this year’s campaign.
