Tigers’ home form to be tested as Liverpool arrive with strong side

Marco Silva and his black and amber side will look to continue their home form as title contenders Liverpool take a trip to the KCOM.

Hull City’s recent performance against Manchester United earned them their first point at Old Trafford since 1924 and also their first point against any of the top six sides.

With this fixture, they will hope to recover from their battle scars at Anfield earlier in the season, where the Tigers suffered a 5-1 defeat.

However, team news is looking bright as January signings as midfielders Kamil Grosiki and Alfred N’Diaye will be contending for places in the starting XI.

Defender, Andrea Ranocchia will also be available after making his debut at Old Trafford. But it will be Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic who will be ineligible to feature against his former club.

The Reds on the other hand will be visiting Humberside with a potentially strong squad with the likes of their strike force Phillipe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino. Winger Sadio Mane will also look to feature after returning from the African Cup of Nations.

The local supporters continue to have faith in Marco Silva despite failing to make the FA Cup last 16 and also missing out on the EFL Cup final at Wembley.

Radio Humberside presenter David Burns, who commentates on Hull City games, said: “I’ve been very impressed with him. He’s come into a very trying situation, in a new country at a higher level and straight away he’s got the fans, and more importantly the player’s on-side. He seems flexible, thoughtful and very well organised. He’s a hit so far.”
